A small cozy place. EXCELLENT...I repeat EXCELLENT bar food and then some. Friendly staff that work HARD to make e3veryone welcome and happy. Yes this is a bar with sports games and trivia playing daily. Events are well planned. Drinks are reasonably priced and I enjoy visiting weekly. If you haven't stopped by for a drink or for one of the nightly food specials, you don't know what you're missing.

The owners/staff are correct when saying they are a Bar & Grill.. Bar being the first in the wording. People are there for drinks not so much food. Not to say thier little canteen isn't cool.. It feeds 70 people on a hound night in 2 hours no problems.. But it's Bar food. Not fine dinning..Hamburgers and Wings.. What more do ya want with an Ice cold one in your hand! I enjoy going to Break A Way Bar to have a beverage before a Hounds game, During a Hounds Game and after a Hounds Game. I have viewed the staff working real hard to make everyone's visit enjoyable.. They know everyone by there name and /or by their drink of choice. Where else can you go in the sault for a drink inbetween periods and already have it waiting for you and you don't have to wait in line. Just pre order! I was also walking one day doentown and one of the staff members seen me and asked if i Needed a ride. How awesome is that! Shawn Go Hounds Go

I would just like to say that I am an employee and the Breakaway Bar and we do our best to serve and keep everyone happy. Everyone has an off day once and a while. I am sure that not everyone is completly happy with your work ethic at your place of employment all the time. I find it extreamly rude that you people are bashing this place. Everyone works hard there to accomodate the patrons that frequent the bar and try to make each visit memorable. Maybe you need to look at the way you treated the staff and just maybe that will give you clarity on why you may not have been treated to your expectation. We`are a bar after all not all 4 star hotel.. People come there to let loose and forget about their problems for a while. If ya don't like it don't come but please don't bash the establishment. For first time bar owners I think they are doing one hell of a good job and really enjoy working there. And yes.... I do have another job durring the day. This job is just someplace I like to work where I enjoy the company of customers who have now become friends and work with people I consider family. They bend over backwards for anyone. They in no way shape or form deserve to be bashed this way. Maybe you need to think of what you did to get the treatment you got. Respect works two way!!!

Children are welcome to come view ADULTS 16+ singing Karaoke. I am sorry not everyone likes to hear Barbie Doll songs. It Is A Bar & Grill Not A Daycare.

TO THE OWNER OF BREAKAWAY BAR AND GRILL: I will NEVER step foot in your establishment again after the way you treated my daughter Alandra, her friends and I there tonight! Please know that I brought your bar a lot of business through the parents of these teenagers who accompanied them, and my own friends that I brought in both before 9pm and after to sing karaoke from week to week. I can GUARANTEE
you, that once I spread the news about how after months of singing there with my daughter and our friends and families, to suddenly being told tonight that they weren't allowed to sing anymore, and that they had to be 16 to sing, that you WILL lose a lot of business. Your establishment is a bar AND grill, which means those under 19 years of age can be present before 9 pm. In fact, it even says in the entrance way that minors are welcome. Therefore, when karaoke starts at 7:00, there is no law stating that you HAVE to be 16 to be able to sing karaoke. You made up that rule to be spiteful and hurt the feelings of innocent young people that only wanted to sing and have a little fun, that were under parental supervision. I have found another place to bring our business to that is more than happy to support our young people. Hope you know that you've just lost a crowd of about 15 to 20 people every week. To those of you reading this, please feel free to comment or click the like button to show your support for my daughter Alandra. Thank you.

i was recently at this establishment, and i have to agree,, the staff were not professional at all,,, but then again,, it goes with the territory,,, a down town ,,underground bar. we did have some food from the little cook house,,, and it was very greasy,,,, we won't visit this place again when in town!

the service at this bar is what it is ,,, a downtown serve your regular bar patrons first,, kind of bar,, the owner,, doesn't know what the heck she is doing,,, she treats her staff like crap,, fires a newcomer to waitressing for calling in and saying she will be 1/2 hr. late , but accepting another employee to call in and saying that they don't feel like working today,, but sitting at the bar and getting blasted is ok,,,and the food in the canteen,, is well below standard,, they do give you plenty,,, and the soup is good , but anyone can open a jar of stock,, add a carrot and celery and call it soup,, when u ask for eggs over medium,,, it doesn't mean that you want a hard cooked egg,,,back to the bar part of this business,,and the so called head of the business,,,, well lets just say she is what she is,,, a low class wanna be who just doesn't know what the heck she is doing! she is more suitable to be sitting on the other side of the bar,,,, where she would prefer to be!

I am not sure who approves the reviews but could you please take off the bad review of our new Bar. Alf Behrens and myself Dawn Lynn have taken over ownership of the Bar & Grill as of May 30 2011.We Have new staff and are building a place of good food and Service for all whom attend. Terrible service.
The waitresses were rude and drunk themselves. Most deffinately not ever going back. Next time after a game I will just take the extra time to head to Dock's Riverfront Bar and Grill.
